The NHL goes to Vegas

For a hockey geek like me, spending a few days in Las Vegas and attending the NHL Awards and related events is nothing short of amazing. The official festivities kicked off yesterday morning at the NHL Charity Shootout, a poker tournament featuring NHL players, poker pros, and some online contest winners. A good friend of mine scored us VIP passes to the entire event, which not only let us meet a variety of NHL players, but also led to a lucky up-close encounter with the oldest trophy in professional sports, The Stanley Cup.
