Media Bias?

Thursday, June 18, 2009

As a part of the now famous MSNBC “fly swatting interview,” President Obama lamented that one particular news station, you guessed it - Fox News, was “entirely devoted to attacking my administration,” continuing, “you’d be hard-pressed, if you watched the entire day, to find a positive story about me on that front.”

This of course raised the ire of some at Fox, who rolled out some data the nonpartisan Pew Research Center collected during the election regarding the percentage of positive vs. negative stories on the two networks.  I think the data speaks for itself:

Fox:                                                              MSNBC:

Obama - 40% Negative - 25% positive       Obama - 12% negative - 42% Positive

McCain - 40% Negative - 22% positive       McCain - 72% negative - 10% positive

Of course, when MSNBC continues to marvel over the President’s ability to succeed at a simple household task that many of us do everyday, who knows when they would have time to ask the, “you know, tough questions.”
