Just when I thought my confessional plate was full, I have to add one more sin to the list - texting.  The Catholic Church of Italy has called upon people to give up texting, IPods, web surfing, and other modern day vices for Lent.  This is just one more sign of the pervasiveness of social media throughout society.  For my part, as a practicing Catholic I am planning a less drastic approach to Lent by giving up taking my Blackberry to bed with me.  Forgive me Father for I have sinned.
