Evidently the market values Facebook at about six and a half billion dollars. The Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies, the one that infused the social network with $200 million some months ago, is now looking to buy common stock held by employees and outside investors. Each share is priced at $14.77 in the deal. With this buy-up, Digital Sky Technologies will own about 3.5% of the company.

With little fanfare, Google’s wildly popular free Gmail email communications platform shed its Beta status. Google Docs and Google Talk also are full fledged application releases as of yesterday.
